Checker Sedan is Awarded Luxury Sedan Contract at Detroit Metropolitan Airport
Detroit, February 17, 2006 —Checker Sedan is pleased to announce that today the company was selected as the winning bidder to provide luxury sedan service at Detroit Metro Airport.
“We are truly honored to be selected to provide sedan service for travelers using Metro Airport,” said Timothy J. McCarthy, President of Checker Cab and Sedan.
Beginning July 1, 2006, Checker Sedan will have an exclusive contract for up to five years to provide curbside pickup for luxury sedan service at Metro Airport. Under the terms of the contract, Checker is committed to provide a minimum of 100 new luxury sedans with GPS and Automated Vehicle Locater capabilities. In addition, Checker will provide wheelchair accessible vehicles.
McCarthy added, “The Wayne County Airport Authority requires all contracts to undergo a competitive bidding process. We are grateful that the evaluation team deemed Checker to be the most ‘responsive and responsible proposer.’ We are proud to be a part of the exciting growth that Metro Airport is experiencing as a result of the success of the McNamara Terminal, and we look forward to being there when the new North Terminal complex opens.”
